Tobacco Road FC Hosts Lionsbridge FC in Season Finale
DURHAM, NC – Tobacco Road FC hosts Lionsbridge FC Friday night at 7 p.m. at Durham County Memorial Stadium in its season finale. Come cheer on Los Toros and celebrate a fun summer of PDL soccer.
Series History:
Tobacco Road FC last met Lionsbridge FC on when Tobacco Road withstood a late push from Lionsbridge to win 3-2. Three first half goals from Tobacco Road gave it the lead into the half. Lionsbridge attempted the spectacular and pulled within one by the way of two goals, in the 80th minute and the 88th minute.
Tobacco Road FC and Lionsbridge FC are split equally in all-time meetings, both teams winning the home matchup.

Currently in the South Atlantic Division standings, Tobacco Road FC sits in fifth with 12 points on three wins, seven losses and three ties. Lionsbridge hold the third spot in the table with 16 points by the way of four wins, five losses and four ties.

Last Time Out:
Tobacco Road FC is coming off a short rest after travelling to North Myrtle Beach, SC to take on the Myrtle Beach Mutiny. The Mutiny netted two goals in the first half to take the lead going into the break. After halftime, it looked as though a new Tobacco Road team came onto the field. Los Toros controlled the second half, pulling within one as Ben Fisher put the ball in the back of the net in the 59th minute. In the final seconds of the game the Mutiny counterattacked and scored an insurance goal, bringing a final score of 3-1.
Lionsbridge’s last time out resulted in a 1-1 draw at home against the Carolina Dynamo on July 7th. A Dynamo goal in the 31st minute put the hosts down going into the break. After the break, Lionsbridge FC equalized quickly off a corner kick in the 47th minute. The match played out the full 90 minutes and finished 1-1.
Match Promotions:
Friday’s match will feature a 50/50 raffle. Tickets will be sold one ticket for $2 or three tickets for $5 and will be available for the raffle at the gate. In addition to receiving half of the money collected the winner of the raffle will also receive a Tobacco Road FC scarf.
Face painting will be at the match for fans. Food trucks will also be at the match for fans enjoyment. In addition to a traditional food truck, Mighty Frozen will be at the match serving ice cream and other cold treats to help fans stay cool.
Tobacco Road is thankful for the continued support that the Durham community has offered. All fans from Central Park School for Children and Duke Sports Medicine will receive $5 admission for the match.
