Mauricio Pineda

Mauricio Pineda is a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In his prep years, Pineda finished as the fifth-ranked player by College Soccer News in the 2016 class. He won a national championship with the Chicago Fire U18 Academy team in July 2015. In his freshman year at Carolina, 2016, he appeared in 21 matches, starting in 16. He was named to the TopDrawerSoccer Freshman Best XI First Team, the ACC All-Freshman Team, the All-ACC Academic Team and ACC Honor Roll. Scored four goals and one assist on the year. In 2017, his sophomore campaign, he started 22 games for the Tar Heels in the midfield. Pineda recorded three goals and one assist on the year and was a All-ACC Third Team selection.
